Most people think group fitness is just about working out with other people.
But it’s not just that!
Done properly, it changes how you train, how consistent you are, and ultimately the results you get.
Here is why it works so well:
When you train alone, it is easy to skip a workout:
“I will go tomorrow”
“I will just do a quick one at home” and then never get round to it!
In a group setting, there is:
A set time
A trainer (me!) expecting you
Other people showing up and expecting you.
Therefore you are far more likely to follow through.
And consistency is what delivers results.
Most people under train when they are alone.
In a group:
The energy is higher,
people around you are working hard and
you subconsciously raise your effort
You get more out of the same session without even thinking about it.
No more:
“What should I train today?”
“Am I doing this right?”
“Is this even working?”
All you need to do is
turn up, follow the session and
focus on effort
That mental relief is huge, especially if you are busy or overwhelmed.
Motivation comes and goes.
But when you enjoy the sessions, know people there and have structure
You keep coming back.
And that is where progress actually happens.
This is the underrated one.
You are not just going to the gym.
You are part of something.
You recognise faces
You chat between sets
You support each other and have a laugh.
It makes training feel less like a chore and more like something you want to do. And my classes are full of lovely people with absolutely no fitness egos!
In a good group setup, you still get:
Technique coaching, exercise options and progressions plus
structure and progression
So you are not just working hard. You are working super effectively.
If you do not enjoy your training, you will not stick to it.
Simple as that.
Group training brings:
Energy, variety and
a bit of fun
Which makes consistency easier without relying on willpower. We honestly have a good laugh in my bootcamp sessions – and talk about all sorts of topics whilst we train. It helps the hour go so fast!
If you have been trying to do it on your own and it is not quite clicking, my bootcamp classes might be the missing piece.
